The Start of a New School Year ... and Times for Grace
Hello New Hope Family, Pastor Phillip here!
I can’t believe it’s almost time for school to begin! Kids all over Lee County and beyond will kick back into their routine, as will parents and loved ones who help them do it.
From morning fits of, “If you don’t get dressed in five minutes, you’re wearing your pajamas to school!” to evening conversations of, “So, how was school today honey, really?,” every school day will be an opportunity for awkwardness ...
… And grace.
Grace is that thing that smooths over the rough patches, fills in the gaps and helps us all go back to the things that matter most.
Grace covers our mistakes and inconsistencies, gives us second and third and fourth tries and beyond, and reminds us that we’re all just regular people in need of a Savior.
And what a Savior we have!
I’m so grateful for God’s grace in my life and in our church because it’s that grace the makes true one of my favorite sayings about what the Church is supposed to be: Church is not a place you go to, it’s a people you belong to.
That’s why we say around here that one of our key goals is to “Belong together!"
I hope you’ll join me in receiving and sharing God’s grace in the month ahead, and that we’ll also get to worship together at our New Hope gatherings ...
… because “together” with Jesus is the best place to be.
Looking up with you,
~Pastor Phillip
