MISSION OF NEW HOPE CHURCH
We live for God in community on mission.
OUR VISION
Where anyone can find Hope in Jesus.
OUR STRATEGY
We live in a world where nearly one in three Americans has checked out of church and has no intention of ever returning. Those outside of the church are no longer asking the questions that the traditional church is attempting to answer. The Gospel has moved from the center of our culture to the margins. The local church must adapt to its new place in today’s society to reach a world that has moved on from institutionalized religion. This new position is not worse, only different. The possibility for growth and engagement is tremendous if the church will properly adapt to this new opportunity.
New Hope Church believes this is best achieved by adopting an active missional culture: A culture where each believer understands his or her role in the Missio Dei, the Mission of God. God Himself is on a mission to reconcile a lost world to Himself. He sent His Son on this mission and now His Son sends the church on this same mission.
A missional church understands that everything we do as individual believers and as the body of Christ is about getting to the goal of reconciling a lost world back to its Creator.
New Hope Church
We understand that the goal of every activity and event on the church calendar is an opportunity to be on mission for God. Our church family lives on mission every day while using the Family Worship Center for training, fellowship and larger activities that cannot be produced at the house level. The goal of the church calendar is not to draw in, overload and isolate the believer from the world, but rather provide growth and outreach opportunities the believer cannot facilitate in small groups. At New Hope Church, we believe Bible verses are to be internalized, not just memorized. Furthermore, talents and skills are to be lived out, not just learned. The not-yet-believing world is to be engaged, not just informed, and good works are not seen as handouts, but rather “Hand In Hand.”
What We Believe
New Hope Church | A Family Church
New Hope Church is a local church body that is independent in governance, but unified in doctrine, theology and beliefs with the Southern Baptist Convention. Below is a summary of the beliefs we hold as a church. You can find more information about the SBC by clicking the button below.
Assurance - We believe that every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Baptism - We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation.
Bible - We believe that the Bible is the Word of God without any error, the sole authority for life and faith.
Christ's Return - We believe that Jesus Christ will literally return to earth.
Church - We believe that the church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as its Head.
Eternity - We believe that those persons who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven.
God - We believe that there is one God who exists in three person; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Government - We believe in the separation of church and state, but not the separation of God and government. Christians are to be salt and light in society.
Holy Spirit - We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active in convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation, and is the Comforter and Guide who lives in every believer.
Jesus - We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, is wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven.
Man - We believe that man is a special creation of God, made in His image, but that through the sin of the first man, Adam, mankind fell so that all men are sinners and need salvation.
Prayer - We believe that each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation - We believe that salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
